Fall is a time many look forward to because of football, sweaters, pumpkins and hayrides. While all of these things are certainly traditional symbols of the season, the Department of Communication looks forward to its annual bonfire event.
Ms. Charlotte Elder, M.A., an instructor in the department and the faulty advisor for the Communication Ambassadors, opened her home on October 21st to students, faculty, and staff to come together. There were about 30 total students and faculty in attendance.
This bonfire is one of the trademarks of the department, and it certainly makes an impact on students. Emily Gerard, a Junior at WKU and a Communication Ambassador, said, “I think the bonfire allows our department to build a sense of community, get to know some professors on a deeper level, and meet students you may not have had classes with. It makes me glad I am a part of the Department of Communication.”
