Haag, Blackman Garner All-Conference USA Honors on Wednesday
Haag also becomes the first-ever WKU women’s golfer to become a two-time All-Conference player as she was an All-Sun Belt performer last season when she became the first player to take home an all-conference award since Crystal Anglea in 2000. Haag was also a Conference USA All-Academic team member and has been nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-Region honors.
“What a tremendous honor for these two young women,” said head coach Adam Gary. “They have both worked extremely hard at their craft this season, and as a program, we couldn’t be happier that their hard work has paid off with this recognition.”
Blackman took home an astonishing 10 top-20 finishes across the 11 events she played for the Lady Toppers in 2014-15 and was the C-USA Golfer of the Week for February 25 following a third place finish at the 13th Annual USA Women’s Invite. The Essex, England native led WKU in stroke average with 74.9 strokes per round and also tallied a team-high four top-5 finishes.
Haag, who was second on the team in stroke average this season with 75.3 strokes per round, was the C-USA Golfer of the Week for March 12 after winning the Lady Eagle Invitational. She participated in all 12 of the team’s events this season and tallied a team-high six top-10 finishes to go along with three inside the top five. Her low-round of 68 on the season was matched only by her All-Conference teammate, Blackman.
